BVIHSA Provides Update on AC Installation Works at Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic

BVIHSA Provides Update on AC Installation Works at Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic, Virgin Gorda.

British Virgin Islands – January 19, 2026 – The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) advises the public that the air-conditioning installation works at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic are ongoing.

The project experienced technical challenges which have impacted the original completion timeline. As a result, the Authority now anticipates that the air-conditioning installation works will be completed by the end of January, barring any unforeseen issues.

Once the installation phase is completed, the project will move into the next stage, which includes a thorough deep cleaning of the building and an initial air quality assessment. This phase is expected to take approximately ten days once it begins. Following the successful completion of this process and confirmation that the facility is safe, health services will be relocated back to the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic. A one-month follow-up air quality assessment will be conducted after reoccupation and will not affect the clinic’s reopening or continued operation.

A company specializing in industrial-grade cleaning and air quality services has already been selected and remains on standby to commence works once the installation phase is finalized.

The BVIHSA sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused by these delays and thanks the Virgin Gorda community for its continued patience and understanding as work progresses toward the safe reopening of the facility
