Dr. Jamal T. Wintz is a seasoned Clinical and Informatics Pharmacist with over 16 years of dedicated experience in clinical pharmacy practice. He holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy from D’Youville University School of Pharmacy in Buffalo, New York, USA.
Dr. Wintz is a member of various clinical committees in the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (“BVIHSA”), including the Infection Control Committee, Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. In addition, Dr. Wintz collaborates with regional and international organizations such as PAHO, CARPHA, and OECSPPS to develop policies and publications that aim to improve healthcare standards in the Caribbean region.
From 2020 to 2023, Dr. Wintz acted as the Pharmacy Manager at the BVIHSA. During his tenure, he successfully introduced a comprehensive clinical pharmacy program, elevating pharmacists as essential clinical team members during daily physician rounds. Dr Wintz has also leveraged technology to streamline processes and enhance patient outcomes, further underscoring his commitment and capability to provide exceptional pharmaceutical care for the citizens of the British Virgin Islands.
