Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – July 7, 2026 – The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) is proudly celebrating an outstanding international achievement after capturing the Grand Prize at the APIC 2026 Film Festival with its original short film, “A Symphony of Guardians.”
The winning production was selected from a field of submissions representing healthcare organizations and infection prevention professionals from around the world, making the recognition a significant milestone for both the Authority and the Virgin Islands.
Created to promote infection prevention awareness, A Symphony of Guardians highlights the vital role healthcare professionals play in protecting patients, staff, and the wider community through safe practices, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to quality care.

The BVIHSA extends special recognition to Albert Cheraymond for bringing the creative vision of the project to life through exceptional cinematography and editing. The Authority also acknowledges the invaluable contribution of its Marketing and Public Relations Unit, whose creative expertise and production support helped transform an important patient safety message into an internationally award-winning film.
Representatives of the BVIHSA, including Infection Prevention Manager Rosa Ravariere-Seaman, attended the APIC 2026 Conference, where they proudly accepted the Grand Prize on behalf of the organization.
It was a proud moment for the team and a well-earned recognition of the collaboration and effort behind the project.
The APIC Film Festival is part of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Annual Conference, held June 15-17 in Nashville, USA, where infection prevention leaders and healthcare professionals from around the world gather to share best practices and innovative approaches to patient safety.
Rosa Ravariere-Seaman said the recognition was a shared achievement: “This film was truly a team effort, and I’m grateful to everyone who worked with me to bring it to life. Their creativity, dedication, and support made this possible.”

This international recognition reflects the Authority’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of excellence in infection prevention, patient safety, and quality healthcare delivery.
