The BVI Health Services Authority (a client-centered healthcare organization) invites qualified and professional applicants for the position of Psychometrist. This post is responsible for the administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological tests and accurately scoring the assessments with appropriate norms while providing detailed behavioral observations that may aid in test interpretation and conduct bio-psychosocial evaluations.

Primary Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering and scoring psychological and neuropsychological assessments; assisting clinical psychologists with test selection and administration; adapting assessments to meet individual patient needs while maintaining standardized procedures; conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations and documenting relevant behavioral observations; maintaining accurate patient records and progress notes; communicating patient progress with psychologists and other healthcare professionals; supporting referrals and treatment planning; assisting with research projects and group programs; contributing to departmental quality improvement initiatives; ensuring the confidentiality, accuracy, security, and timely availability of patient information; complying with infection control, health and safety, and organizational policies; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from an accredited university and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a mental health facility administering and scoring psychological tests. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, sound judgment, emotional maturity, empathy, tact, integrity, reliability, and the ability to listen objectively and communicate effectively without allowing personal feelings to influence professional interactions. Experience or demonstrated ability in managing group programs, providing crisis intervention, and utilizing community resources for appropriate referrals is also required.

Job Summary

Salary Range:

$40,284.00 – $52,374.00 per annum
