Dr. Paula Trotman-Hastings graduated from the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 2001. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Health and a Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control from the University College Cork, Ireland.
With 24 years’ experience as a medical doctor, Dr. Trotman-Hastings is presently employed as the BVIHSA’s Occupational Health Physician. With a focus primarily on health and safety of employees in their work environs, Dr. Trotman-Hastings has been conducting ENG 1 Seafarer Medicals on behalf of the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency since 2016. She regularly promotes the importance of practicing selfcare in order to preserve one’s mental health and build personal resilience.
