About Mr. Potter

Mr. Ron Potter brings an extensive background in auditing and accounting, with a career that spans over three decades. Starting as a Student Accountant at Deloitte in 1989, he showcased remarkable dedication and talent, ultimately rising to the position of Partner before leaving in 2013 to join BDO. At BDO, he has held pivotal roles including Audit Director and Managing Director, demonstrating his leadership and expertise within the industry. His educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, as well as the prestigious title of Fellow from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) earned in 1997.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Potter is deeply committed to community service and governance. He has significantly impacted various statutory corporations and charitable organizations, notably serving as Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Bank of the Virgin Islands from 1999 to 2007 and currently fulfilling a similar role with the BVI Health Services Authority. His leadership extends to the BVI Electricity Corporation, where he served as Chairman from 2013 to 2019, and his ongoing involvement in the Rotary Club of Tortola since 1996 highlights his dedication to community initiatives.

Mr. Potter’s community engagements reflect his passion for regional development and heritage preservation. He has been actively involved with the East End Long Look Economic Development Subcommittee since 2011, focusing on the development of the Multi-purpose Stadium at Greenland. Additionally, as a member of The Seventh Eight Heritage Society, he contributes to the Long Look Heritage Project, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing cultural and community resources in the British Virgin Islands. His multifaceted experience and community spirit define Mr. Potter as a leader who strives for excellence both in business and in service to society.
