Dr. Dierdra Wheatley was appointed Human Resources Manager at the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) in 2023, bringing over 15 years of expertise in human resources management. Her distinguished career in the BVI Public Service spans several key government ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Health & Social Development, the Ministry of Natural Resources & Labour, the Department of Human Resources, and H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.

Prior to joining BVIHSA, Dr. Wheatley served as Human Resources Manager at the Ministry of Health & Social Development, where she led numerous staff development initiatives, demonstrating her commitment to workforce excellence and organizational growth.

In her role at BVIHSA, Dr. Wheatley oversees all facets of human resources, including recruitment and staffing, training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and compliance with labor laws. Her strategic leadership is instrumental in advancing the organization’s talent management strategy, ensuring alignment with BVIHSA’s mission to deliver world-class healthcare services.

Dr. Wheatley holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University. She is dedicated to fostering a progressive and supportive workplace culture, leveraging her expertise to enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness at BVIHSA.
