Today the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) Emergency Department observed Emergency Nurses Day with a celebration designed to honour, strengthen and encourage the BVIHSA Emergency Room (ER) nurses.
The celebration was held in the old Peebles Hospital training room and was attended by ER nurses, executive members, managers, and staff of the BVIHSA.
In giving remarks, the Chief Executive Officer stated, “So much has happened this year and time and time again the BVIHSA ER nurses continue to rise to the occasion and deliver on our core values which are: Leadership, Accountability, Excellence, Professionalism and Teamwork, and for this we at the BVIHSA say a big thank you to our ER nurses for all they do”.
Also while giving remarks, the Director of Nursing Services Mrs. Gretchen Hodge-Penn added “We have a very hard working set of nurses in our Emergency Department and I must commend them for what they do daily. They are committed to our patients and they remind me always why I decided to become a nurse.”
Emergency Nurses Week is from 11th -17th October under the theme “When Seconds Count, Count on ER Nurses”.
Tomorrow, BVIHSA ER nurses will be guests on the International Morning Ride Show at 8:15am on ZROD 103.7 FM Radio and on Friday will be guests on the Melee Magic at 8:00am on ZVCR 106.9 FM Radio. All are encouraged to tune in and/or call in with comments, questions or concerns.
The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority wishes to say a special thank you to all Emergency Nurses and wish them well as they celebrate Emergency Nurses Week 2015.
