Pediatric care at the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority is staffed with a team of physicians and health care professionals specialized in the special needs of children. Offering a full range of care for all the developmental stages of your child’s life from birth, to well baby care, and childhood illness through 17 years of age.

The Pediatrics Department housed in the state-of-the-art new Peebles Hospital, provides both in-patient and out-Patient Services.

The Neonatal Unit is equipped to provide for infants and critically ill newborns.  We work diligently to meet the needs of your children, as we believe that your children are our children and exceptional pediatric care is vital for a healthy population.

Dr. Arnel Soller MD, DPPS

Brief Biography
Dr. Arnel Soller brings to BVI 20 years of experience dealing with children’s conditions. Aside from working in Philippines, he has practiced pediatrics in King Fahad Hospital, Al Hassa Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and neonatology in Mt. Hope Maternity and Child Hospital in Trinidad. He is a registered member of the Philippine Pediatric Society, and has passed his diplomate exam on pediatrics.

Dr. Natasha D. Frett BSc, MBBS, DM (Pediatrics)

Brief Biography
Dr. Natasha Frett completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Barry University in Miami Florida. She completed her medical degree at the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) in Kingston, Jamaica. After internship at the University Hospital of the West Indies she worked in the departments of Pediatric Surgery and Neonatology. She subsequently joined the pediatric post graduate program at University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) in Kingston, Jamaica and completed these studies in May 2014. During her post graduate studies, she developed interest in perinatal medicine.

Her doctoral thesis investigated the effects of hypertension on doppler flow in pregnancy, and fetal outcome. Dr. Frett joined the pediatric unit at Peebles Hospital in October 2015 as a medical specialist in Pediatrics. Presently, Dr. Frett is the medical officer for CAIT (Child Abuse Investigative Team) and is actively involved in pediatric education programs for clinical staff. She is also involved in the Expanded program on Immunization, and the Early Childhood Development Technical working group. Dr. Frett holds certificates in adult, pediatric and neonatal advance life support, pediatric critical care, lactation, management of HIV and forensic interviewing.

Christian Ugwuagu, B.Sc., M.B., B.S, D.M

Brief Biography
Dr. Ugwuagu completed his first degree in Microbiology at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, following which he obtained his primary medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. Dr. Ugwuagu went on to do a residency program in Pediatrics at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados (The University of the West Indies, where he obtained the Doctor of Medicine (D.M.) Degree in December 2011.
