CCT Global Communications have donated two cell phones with paid cell phone services to the BVI Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) that falls under the auspices of the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) through the Community Mental Health Services.
The BVI Crisis Intervention Team is a non-profit, open membership group dedicated to the prevention and mitigation of disabling stress through the provision of: immediate crisis intervention or psychological first aid, education, training and support services for all Emergency Services professions.
CIT is operated by a group of volunteers from within the community who have been trained in providing psychological first aid or crisis counseling and debriefing for victim(s) and or their families, witnesses and first responders of any traumatic event. The CIT responds to at least three crises per month and services are also provided to the sister islands.
The cell phones and services donated by CCT Global Communication will provide communication support between team leaders, first responders, and individuals involved during the crisis. The BVIHSA would like to say thank you to CCT Global Communications for this kind donation as every donation aids in serving the health and medical needs of the Virgin Islands.
