The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority has completed the full transition into the new Peebles Hospital today, Monday, 29th December.
The first three patients were relocated to the new Women’s and Children Services Unit in the new Peebles Hospital and were all escorted by the Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, The Honorable Dr. Kedrick Pickering.
The Deputy Premier stated when greeting the first patient to be moved into the new facility that “This is a dream come true for me. I have worked 22 years delivering babies at Peebles Hospital and to be part of the historical event is a dream, I am most grateful to see come true.”
The Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Darlene Carty Baptiste added “Our employees have been working very long hours for several months and today is truly a day of rejoicing, as it culminates all that we have been striving for and motivated to see come to fruition. We are most pleased to tell the community that all hospital services are now available in the new state-of-the-art Peebles Hospital.”
Patients seeking the following services must go to the new Peebles Hospital:
1st Floor: Audiology, Pharmacy Unit, and the White Cedar Café (which is open to the public for breakfast and lunch) .
2nd Floor: Medial Records, Physiotherapy Unit, and Nutrition and Dietetics Unit
3rd Floor: Psychiatric ward, Medical Ward, Surgical Ward and Emergency Room (ER) services
4th Floor: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Pediatric Unit, Surgical theatres, and Women and Children Services (Including Gynecology, Prenatal Care and Neonatal Intensive Care services)
