President Ms. Pasty Lake and members from the Family Affairs Racing Stables arrived at the new Peebles Hospital on Wednesday, 3rd September to tour the facility, several weeks after donating $10,000 during the August Festival celebrations.
The official donation was made on Tuesday, 5th August and was presented to the Minister for Health and Social Development the Hon. Ronnie W. Skelton.
Ms. Lake expressed that recently two members of the Family Affairs Racing Stables were injured at different times and both received medical treatment at Peebles Hospital and she was impressed by the care they received. She added that the “Two attending physicians were very professional, knowledgeable and compassionate and her members’ treatment were administered in timely fashion.”
She also went on say that “Many times we hear the bad stories, the bad news, and seldom hear or share the good, but I was pleased, and I went to the group and told them that we should make a donation, and everyone agreed as Peebles Hospital belongs to the people of the Virgin Islands and not to any political party.
