She completed her medical degree at the University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) in Kingston, Jamaica. After internship at the University Hospital of the West Indies she worked in the departments of Pediatric Surgery and Neonatology. She subsequently joined the pediatric post graduate program at University of the West Indies (Mona Campus) in Kingston, Jamaica and completed these studies in May 2014. During her post graduate studies, she developed interest in perinatal medicine.
Her doctoral thesis investigated the effects of hypertension on doppler flow in pregnancy, and fetal outcome. Dr. Frett joined the pediatric unit at Peebles Hospital in October 2015 as a medical specialist in Pediatrics. Presently, Dr. Frett is the medical officer for CAIT (Child Abuse Investigative Team) and is actively involved in pediatric education programs for clinical staff. She is also involved in the Expanded program on Immunization, and the Early Childhood Development Technical working group. Dr. Frett holds certificates in adult, pediatric and neonatal advance life support, pediatric critical care, lactation, management of HIV and forensic interviewing.
