Hospital/Operations Services provides support service to our medical services.
Client Services Unit
Client-centered care is care that is organized around the client. Partnership is encouraged between the client, the family and the healthcare team to provide care that meets the needs of the client. Client-centered care considers the preferences of the client and family in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care, thus improving quality and safety.
Community Services Unit
The Community Health Support Service Unit provides coordinated administrative service to the clinical/technical staff, in the following ways:
- Front desk reception
- Patient assistance (non-clinical) to the thirteen (13) clinics, namely: Iris Penn Smith, Rosalind Penn, Road Town Health Centre, Sea Cow’s Bay, Capoons Bay, Cane Garden Bay, Mental Health, Dental Surgery, Audiology on Tortola, and the Iris O’Neal, North Sound, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke clinics on the Sister Islands
- Assist in the efficacy of our services being rendered at the above clinics.
Infection & Prevention Control /Employee Health Unit
The Infection & Prevention and Control/Employee Health Unit develops, implements, and evaluates strategies and programs to reduce risks, prevent and control healthcare associated infections and infectious diseases spread in patients, visitors and healthcare workers.
Medical Records Unit
The Medical Records Unit creates confidential written records of all patients seen at the Hospital or Community Health Services. A chronological written account of a patient’s examination and treatment that includes the patient’s medical history and complaints, the physician’s physical findings, the results of diagnostic tests and procedures, and medications and therapeutic procedures.
Nutrition & Dietetics Unit
The Nutrition & Dietetics Unit provides nutrition information and counseling that are scientifically sound to patients in the hospital and clients throughout the community
The Physiotherapy Unit is a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention.
Risk Management Unit
The Risk Management Unit identifies, evaluate, and corrects potential risks that could lead to injury to patients, staff members, or visitors.
Social Services Unit
The Social Services Unit provides support and assistance to patients in resolving and coping with social issues (e.g., finances, health insurance, lodging, recovery etc,).
