The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) and HIMA Health from Puerto Rico wish to remind the public that the Cardiology Physician Specialty Clinic is scheduled for Friday, 20th February with Dr. Felix Del Rio.
Cardiology is a medical specialty and branch of internal medicine concerned with disorders of the heart. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of such conditions as congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, electrophysiology, heart failure, and all heart disease related conditions.
Patients suffering from severe pain or discomfort in the chest, discomfort that spreads into the shoulders, neck, arms or jaw, chest pain that becomes more intense and is not relieved by rest, chest pain combined with sweating cooling clammy skin, and/or paleness, shortness of breath, nausea or vomiting, dizziness or fainting ,unexplained weakness or fatigue, rapid or irregular pulse, becoming hoarse because of pressure on the vocal cords, or difficulty swallowing should make an appointment to see the cardiologist right away.
The HIMA Health Outpatient/Specialty Clinic is open every Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Peebles Hospital. Persons interested in making an appointment can contact the Outpatient/Specialty Clinic at 852-7530.
