Corporate administrative services are now available 24/7 at the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) with the new ‘Executive Team On-Call’ initiative that takes immediate effect.
This new initiative spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer Mrs. Darlene Carty Baptiste is developed to provide executive oversight and leadership during the weekends.
According to Mrs. Baptiste “Peebles Hospital functions on a 24 hour continuum…our patients have 24/7 access to care through our Emergency Room (ER) and in-patient services. To this end, the executive team decided that it would serve our employees and clients well if the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority also had additional corporate administrative services.
She added, “During the off hours matters may arise that require decision making at the executive level, and instead of having to wait until the next working day, employees and clients will have access to the executive on-call and issues can be addressed in real time.”
The executive team at the BVIHSA comprises of the following members: Chief Executive Officer, Darlene Carty-Baptiste; Director of Hospital Services (Operations), Cedorene Malone-Smith; Chief of Medical Staff, Dr. June Samuel; Financial Comptroller, Angelina John; Director of Nursing, Gretchen Hodge-Penn; Director of Community Health Services, Lucy Martin; Director of Information Technology and Infrastructure, Mikey Farara; Associate Director of Infrastructure and Building Engineer, Allan Penn; and Human Resources Manager, Deborah Leslie.
Persons in need of corporate administrative services between the hours of 4:30 pm on Friday to 8:30 am Mondays are kindly asked to call 852-7688. Persons in need of additional information in reference to the executive team members and their respective departments should visit the BVIHSA website at www.bvihsa.vg.
